Heswall Hall
The choir had their first 'solo'outing this week at Heswall hall. It was a great evening, relaxed and friendly with a lovely, familiar, comfortable ambiance. The choir performed brilliantly with a lovely rich well blended sound, looking good on the tiered stage and sporting variations on a theme of black and white. There were two main choir sets featuring acapella singing (Lean on Me, Blue Moon, Only You), good four part singing with piano accompaniment (Chris) Lament, California Dreamin' In my Room and epics like Les Miserables and Bohemian Rhapsody. The solists, Debbie, Vicky, Paula and Bernie were outstanding ... (Dave gave an impromptu cameo performance in Big Spender ... although he didn't sing, he gave an oscar worthy acting role standing looking bewildered!)
During the intervals the audience had opportunities to chat and meet new people, tuck into their buffets and be entertained by Paul Sylvester ... a top quality close up magician, keeping everyone entertained and amazed.
All in all it was a lovely evening enjoyed by the audience and choir alike.
They are now looking forward to their appearance with the RLPO for the christmas family event ... check the web site for further details ...
Congratulations to the choir ... a great night! |
